I haven’t always been active or eaten well. Since being hit by a pickup truck back in 2010 while riding my bike I struggled with maintaining a decent diet and getting back to running. My back injury from the accident continued to rear its ugly head every time I seemed to be making progress only to drop me back on my lazy butt.
Between then and now, I wanted to give up so many times but I just kept making small steps forward – learning how to stand and run correctly (yes, there is a wrong way!), taking up other activities like rowing and walking for fitness, and overcoming my lifelong addiction to sugar added peanut butter (that’s my most recent accomplishment). 🙂
I discovered what I was eating had a major impact on how I felt, looked and lived. For me the major culprit was sugar added foods which usually translates to processed foods. In essence, I was totally sabotaging my efforts to gain control over my poor eating habits. Since avoiding those foods and learning how to overcome my peanut butter issue, I feel more energetic and fit then I have in years!
Now I work with mom’s who are ready to focus on themselves, lose weight, age well, get fit and be inspiring role models for their kids.
